This three day tour combines all the highlights of Mekong Delta with one night onboard Le Cochinchine cruise/ Mekong Emotion Cruise and one night in our lovely Mekong Lodge. This is perfect itinerary for those love being on the water to discover one of the most beautiful and important rivers of the world, the Mekong River.

DETAILED PROGRAM

Day 01 : Saigon - Cai Be (Lunch,Dinner)

Pick up at your hotel (8.am) and travel to Cai Be, around 2.5 hours driving. We leave behind the noisy and chaotic world of motorbikes and skyscrapers in Saigon and head to a land where the water is immense, the sky is clear, the air is fresh and the people are warm hearted. Welcome you to Mekong Delta, Vietnam’s rice basket, the “Land of Nine Dragons”.

Arriving at Cai Be town, we sail leisurely through the Cai Be Floating Market to admire interesting local way of life. On the brown water flow, hundreds of sampans loaded with fresh produce are arranged by groups here and there, crossed by small service boats of café or soups. For photographing, we get closer to the stern used as their home, we could be startled by a sudden dog bark but the owner, a vermicelli soup seller would greet us with a generous smile. All seasonal produce from the Mekong Delta such as rice, vegetables, fruit, fish, and poultry are gathered here before being distributed to local markets.

After visiting the floating market, we land on a luxuriant garden that is nicely landscaped as a special accommodation complex called ”MEKONG LODGE”, an eco-resort with 30 elegant traditional style cottages in the Mekong Delta.

Day 02 : Cai Be - Vinh Long - Tra On (Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner)

Enjoying your breakfast at the Mekong Lodge restaurant, then boarding LE COCHINCHINE boat for a 2 day cruise to Can Tho via Vinh Long and Tra On. Disembark and land on some fantastic places in the villages, then take a pleasant walking or biking on the footpaths of the countryside to visit tropical fruit orchards, watch the local daily activities and meet with farmers.

Continue the cruise to Tra On. Enjoy the magnificent sunset on the river. Leisurely cruise up the Mekong River while enjoying the beautiful scenery and the aperitifs. Wrap up a wonderful day with picturesque ferry crossings over Mekong River branches. Dinner and overnight on board of LE COCHINCHINE.

Day 03 : Tra on - Cantho - Cai Rang floating market (Breakfast)

The buzz of the floating market wakes you up early in the morning. After breakfast, the cruise continues to Can Tho. Enjoy a magnificent sunrise over the water. Leisurely cruise up the BASSAC River while enjoying the beautiful scenery along the way.

Arrival at Can Tho, a small boat will take you to explore the Cai Rang floating market, one of the most bustling floating markets in Mekong Delta with hundreds of small boats barging and jostling for space as owners attempt to sell their goods. Take some photos, taste some fruit and talk with the people on their boats. Finally we will row through palm-shaded creeks typical of Mekong Delta to see local houses and green orchards.
