This hotel is located in a busy area of the city, very close to Ben Thanh market. It is not my most favourite area of the city because it is a bit more complicated than other parts of the city such as Dong Khoi area. However, for tourists it would be very interesting because you get a chance to visit the famous Ben Thanh market and also get to see how local people live and interact. This hotel is very new and gives you a very secured feeling. However, with the price (much more expensive than other hotels in the same area), I think they need to invest a little more in the bed in terms of quality of mattress, bed sheets and especially pillows. Their pillows are the hardest I have ever slept on. Their explanation is that they just changed all their pillows so the pillows are still hard because they are new. I find that a bit weird cos' my new pillows are never hard. Anyway, I still have to comment on how wonderful their staff is. They are so attentive and extremely professional. In room dining is very delicious. I ordered Tom Yum Kung and Singaporean fried noodles. Both of them are very tasty and delicious. The bathroom is very spacious with a big bathtub and a huge shower stand (note that both the bathtub and shower stand are together not separated). Toiletries is very basic and I didn't find any hand towels. But I guess you can request for some. The disappointment I had was that they didn't provide an iron in room. I am aware that it is for safety reasons. But there are five star hotels I lived around the world and they do provide iron. Instead, I had to pay to get my clothes iron and though the price is not too expensive, I still prefer to have it done by myself. NOTE: Please be careful walking around in HCMC, don't wear your handbags around the wrist or on your shoulders, there are snatchers everywhere. I am a Vietnamese, and I have been robbed in the middle of a busy street by thieves on a motorbike and I wore my handbag around my wrist and they dragged me for a few meters on the street and I still have the scars until now after 4 years. This is not so bad in Hanoi though, so it is not applied to the whole country.

The trouble with booking a hotel in saigon is that you never know what you are going to get. The liberty central was recommended by our travel agent and i must say hat off to her. this is incredibly central to everything and was a fab base for us. the rooms were not 5 star but this hotel doesn't pretend to be this. its clean, welcoming and has a great breakfast!! the staff are incredibly helpful and very friendly. we booked three tours through the hotel with buffalo tours and the first one to the mekong was outstanding!!!! we dined on a beautiful boat and were the only ones on the boat. the city tour was good and last night we did the buffet cruise with many Japanese tourist. this tour was good..nice food and extremely camp entertainment that made us laugh muchly. would definitely recommend the liberty central and would come back again :)
